Our first ECCM2009 Ad! Enjoy the laughs

Hi World,

In case you haven’t heard, we’re really trying to make ECCM2009 a valuable and memorable experience for all who attend. We’re really doing our best to fit the needs of the Korean-American Seventh-day Adventist community and we want you to have a voice in the planning process.

At this point, some of the logistics are set in stone (i.e. dates, location etc…), but we wanted to take a poll and find out what matters to you. Please take 10 seconds out of your day to complete the poll below. We really care about what you have to say!

Hello World!

It’s been nearly 5 months since the end of last year’s campmeeting and we are well on our way for 2009! Much has happened over the fall and winter months and we wanted to provide some “official” updates as things are finalized and the pieces are falling into place.

The theme for 2009 will be: “See the Unseen” it is drawn from the following passage:

16Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

We hope you’ll attend ECCM2009 and discover the theme for yourself – it goes a bit deeper than you might think!

Leaders
Secondly, we hope ECCM2009 will convey a marked change in the level of organization and program development as we’ve recruited a growing crop of young leaders. You’ll get to meet all of them soon through videos and blog entries, but needless to say, I am extremely impressed and encouraged by how hardworking, visionary and dedicated our leaders are already. Coordinators for every division from Kindergarten – College/Young Adult have been confirmed and all are way ahead of schedule in their planning. We always welcome more help and involvement -  if you wish to participate in a leadership position please do not hesitate to contact me directly: pastorchoe@gmail.com.

What We’re Thinking
Each of our coordinators have been issued a challenge to make ECCM2009 unlike any other – to raise a new standard in their planning, recruitment and organization. This challenge was issued as a step in growing our faith in God and our desire to be Christ-like in all that we do. It is our hope that a sincere and transforming faith will be conveyed to all who attend ECCM2009 – an event that passionately seeks both spirit and truth.

Updates to Come:

  • Department coordinators introductory videos
  • ECCM2009 commercials and trailers
  • Flyers, pamphlets and stickers to spread the word
  • Videos of keynote speakers
  • ECCM schedule and countdown
  • Videos and song clips from the ECCM Praise Team
  • Pre-reading materials and study guides to consider prior to attending ECCM2009

Why not share all of these things now? Well, we want you to come back often and keep spreading the word – We are sure ECCM2009 will be an awesome experience because you will be there. Don’t miss out!

Hello and welcome to the official blog for the 2009 (korean-american) East Coast CampMeeting of Seventh-day Adventists!

We know how exciting and intense CM can be each year and we wanted feed off that great energy as we begin gearing up for ECCM 2009!

Next year’s CM will be hosted by the Virginia Korean Seventh-day Adventist church (VASDA) and will take place at the University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown from August 2-8, 2009.

This blog is intended to keep all of you in the loop about CM preparations and give you a sense of some of the “behind the scenes” issues when planning such an event. My name is John Choe and I am the English Ministry Pastor at VASDA, but I’m only a small part of a large team of players all working and praying hard to make next year’s CM one filled with spiritual intensity and fellowship! We’ll have various leaders updating this blog frequently offering you different insights into the planning process and it will be the hub for all of our upcoming videos, pictures and posters.
